One of the most frustrating things about traveling with little kids is that hotels are not made for short humans. The sink is too high. The toilet is too high. The bed is too high. The only thing at kid eye level is the safe. (Pro tip: when you get to the hotel, first thing you do is program the safe lock code to 0000 and lock it. They can play microwave all day long and nobody is locking your car keys behind a mystery code.)
Sometimes there's a wobbly ottoman you can drag to the bathroom. Sometimes a suitcase that's not too squishy can serve in a pinch. But the amount of tears we have shed over helping a kid wash their hands while they're balancing on your knee while you have to pee so badly you're going to have to change your own undies in a second. Me. It's my tears.
Enter this stool. Ten dollars. Folds so flat you can shove it into even the most overpacked suitcase. Unfolds so sturdy I trust it to hold me when I need to borrow it to put something up out of reach in the hotel closet (I'm 5'4". It's rough.) I ordered it for our last trip but it didn't arrive in time; I'll use it at Disney in a couple weeks and report back!
