Early potty training means a lot of time sitting on a potty waiting for something to happen. We needed something to keep the kids planted long enough to actually go — and ideally something that made the whole experience feel normal and fun, not medical.
We kept dedicated potty books in the bathroom — they only came out during potty time, which made them feel special. Two favorites that both kids loved and that held up to a lot of bathroom reads.
Keeping the books exclusively in the bathroom was the move. It turned potty time into story time, and both kids would actually ask to go sit on the potty so they could read. That’s the dream scenario.
